Some days are dramatic.
The atmosphere just changes.
A conversation shifts.
A room gets heavier.
Your nervous system notices before you fully do.
And suddenly the version of you that was laughing an hour ago
goes quieter.
But I’ve noticed the opposite is true too.
Some rooms make you lighter.
You talk more easily.
You settle into yourself without trying.
You laugh faster.
You stop monitoring every word before it leaves your mouth.
I’ve been thinking lately about how certain parts of us only seem to appear in calmer spaces.
Not because we’re fake in louder rooms.
Not because we’re hiding.
But because environments affect people more than we like to admit.
Some spaces tighten you up a little.
Some give you room to unfold.
Maybe a check-in isn’t always:
“How are you doing?”
Maybe sometimes it’s:
“What kind of room have you been standing in lately?”
